"Strengthen My Love"

Catgil does it again ;-)

You know, this song's grown on me. I totally take back my comment about it having a low-budget naughty movie soundtrack vibe. I still think his singing is different in this song though - prefer his earlier stuff for sure - but love how he gives it his all in this performance. And dang, that hair.

This song is a great example of how excellent DC is at lip-synching. The only reason I know he's not really singing is that I've listened to that track so many times I recognize it. You'd never know it just to look at him. I think that's one reason he was so great as Keith Partridge---he brought a lot of excitement to the songs because they looked so real.

As for the song itself, I like it. It's average 70's pop. Not award-winning stuff, but nice enough

Ah, SLK, to be fair, I do believe it's a YT audio/video synchro issue here. Reading the comments, Catgil might have had to do a little bit of techno futzing to get this clip up as well.

The song, unlike his earlier ones, is most definitely timestamped 70s.

Hmm. I just went back and listened to the recording (gotta love Rhapsody), and you're right, it's different that the video. And watching it again now, maybe he is really singing. Especially at the end---that wouldn't be on a recording. Wow. I could have sworn that was recorded.

He still was a great lip-syncher, though! :)

Yes, I agree with you. He was so very credible in the PF music segments.

That was amazing! I had no idea David did a tv special. He's wearing an 'I write the songs' white suit again. Very 70's - he can wear anything. Love the song -where did it come from. Am I correct this is from an album put together with tracks he did not want published? He does a great job with this though.

I love the sound of his voice here, it's evolving. It sounds like a cross between his RCA sound and his mature voice. He would have been phenomenal if he'd kept recording. There was nothing until 'Romance' and the voice wasn't used to it's best on that album. I mean, Romance was OK and of it's time, just didn't showcase the vocal power adequately.

Another gorgeous performance by David!!! I love his expressions.

SLK, I am in awe of how much he put into the music scenes on PF. It is very enjoyable to watch, just like any live performance he did. He was really great at the lip synching too!

I hear what you're saying about his voice evolving, BF. He spent so much time on music throughout most of his life (I'm thinking of all of his playing through the nights), that it doesn't even occur to him that he IS first and foremost, a singer, a musician and a great one. It's like it's just a second nature to him that he doesn't even recognize as anything that special, or at least as special as acting.

Thanks DD.
