I'll look into that when my computer is fixed. Cannot see any of your videos or go to any links (am on hubby's computer and he's sabotaged my surfing LOL!). I hope we dont get the same questions and answers again, we rarely hear anything new.

Ooooo! I can't wait to hear what's up and coming. Thanks for sharing this. Sounds like a good idea to leave a comment. We shouldn't squander the opportunity to suggest some questions for David!

I'm sorry about your computer, BF!!!

Afternoon’s with Casey Radio Chat, Part 1.

Hi,

I thought this interview was very good yesterday. David seemed happy, relaxed but enthusiastic. Originally the show was supposed to be prerecorded. But I think what actually happened is that David called in live at about 4:15 PM EST. I remember Casey saying it was 4:13 and they were waiting for David to call in. Casey is a good interviewer so the questions were a little departed from the norm and David seemed to enjoy himself.

There wasn’t any new information here and of course David gave mostly his canned answers, some of which don’t seem to ring true as many of us have been frustrated about. What I liked about it was his general mood, and the way he seemed to be trying to convey a sense of appreciation and humbleness. Casey didn’t ask about his new work that I remember including the new sneak peek into his new venture coming in the spring. That is odd since it was mentioned in the promotion of the interview with David. David did make some mentions of his post-PF work and Ruby at a certain appropriate times, but it was in the context of the question he was answering and I thought it came off well.

I’m going to have to post this in two comments since for the first time I’ve hit the 4096 character limit (2**12 for all of you who don’t care - LOL).

I wish I could have recorded this because now that I’m trying to summarize, I fear I may have some gaping holes in my memory this morning. Errr! I certainly can’t give you exact questions but I was frantically typing notes as he spoke so I was able to capture some details:

David said he loved Penn's Peak the last time he was there, loved the intimacy of it, and always hoped he could come back if they wanted him.

Afternoon’s with Casey Radio Chat, Part 2.

Casey asked about his experience as a pop icon, was it as he would have expected while he was going through it. He said he loves the music from PF and how it's affected people and brought joy and happiness and light into their lives. His concerts are a celebration of PF hits and his solo stuff.

Casey asked about the Slinky app he was promoting and about his avoiding these high tech types of things in reality. He answered about doing organic things (singing live, writing, producing), and not tech things, doesn’t answer or read emails, knows how addicting it can become (I hear ya buddy!).

He was asked about his charity work. He was vice president of Junior Olympics in 70s (?). Giving back makes him feel good, better, bigger. Get the message out for everyone to do what they can. He doesn't have to get paid for doing charity events. I guess the Red Sox game anthem was a cancer charity appearance? His charities are from his perspective of raising his own child: Get back to children.

A lot of Remix was done live. That's what his immediate joy is, playing live.

Casey asked what advice he had for those who have talent but are struggling to get noticed: Be resilient, don't get discouraged, believe in yourself, don't let people make you into something you're not, work your craft, how he got 200 rejections before he won a part (and a little of what he went on to do from there), pursue the work and not fame, "As George once said, It Don't Come Easy.", do the inspiring work, not for the money, he's never done that.

And de-de-dat, de-de-dat, dat’s all folks.

I was so excited during this interview hearing him live on the radio. I was delighted with songs that were played during breaks: C’Mon Get Happy, Do You Believe In Magic, and live versions of I Write The Songs (where the audience was participating), and Daydreamer.

Casey liked it too. "What a fine, fine fella. What a great guy! Pleasure to talk to him. Still tickets available..." And on to say come see the show. David says it's interactive, calm, laidback, mistakes could be made, but it's all live, maybe he cracks a joke, maybe it's funny, maybe it's not. She was still mentioning it for awhile after the interview, of course promoting ticket sales too. She said the interview seemed to be received well (I sent in kudos as well).

Remarking about his apparent ever-present immense appeal to some, she offered up an example of a woman she heard from named Doris who plans to travel across the country from California, near Disney Land, to see David at Epcot in March.
