Doomed, I tell you.

Thanks to Clodyne for spotting this clip on YT and sharing it with me. It's not about DC but you'll forgive me because he looks great here AND he laughs. Serious ear candy, that laugh. Alas, if only his laughs were pig snorts, we'd be spared this "interest" in him, I'm sure. But no, his laugh is as endearing as those dimples of his. Damn. We were so doomed to fall for him.

I bet his pig snorts would sound lovely too! You're up early this morning DD. Thanks for the nod, I've never seen this before.

I'll email David the therapy bill for my obsession, also my husband wants to sue him for all the money I 'waste' buying up PF/David's music!

Oh my, just look at the cute devil (David obviously) and his mouth. What an animated mouth he has, it just wont keep still. God I love it!!!

Don't thank me DD,you know I like to help whenever I can.And as you said...we were all doomed to fall for him weren't we? With all that has been said on him these passed few months,I thought I really was through with him.Somehow I'd like to be able to hate him,but deep down I just can't.Somehow I just can't let go.Am I making any sense here? LOL By the way DD,I sent you another suprise earlier,so check your mailbox. ;-)

Thanks so much Clodyne and DD!!!! I loved seeing this! That's so funny how something as simple as a laugh, HIS laugh, can thrill us so completely. LOL!

Clodyne, I don't think I can ever give him up, no matter what he does now. His singing for me is sublime. If he was JUST a pretty face with a sexy voice and even with those other attractive assets ;-), I'd be able to turn him off much more easily.

Clodyne, you know I have felt just like you. I actually did give him up, or at least I decided to leave MySpace, delete him as friend on Facebook and stop reading his webpage. But...here I am again, I couldn't let go! I hope he will come out of the bad period he's going through, and maybe someday explain what happened. He has been open about his depressions and alcohol abuse, so maybe? Some day?
I haven't yet bought the Partridge Family dvd:s, and I didn't know David as Keith Partridge back then. Even more than many others, I made my own image of him, just based on pictures and records. Now, when I see him move, talk, laugh, he's completely different than my image of him. Not in any negative way, just different. I did see him in Stockholm 1974, but I don't remember much, I think I was completely shocked by the fact that he was there, on the stage in front of me.

Aw, I surprised no one's mentioned how cute David looks with one of his brother's sat on his lap. There's nothing more adorable and irresistible than a young man who's good with kids.

I do believe that's Patrick on David's lap. I recall melting when I first saw a still photo of that shot a while back. It is endearing.

Now, tell me, am I giving David too much acting credit by finding he does NOT look like Keith here?

I can't get over how pretty Shirley Jones is - what a living doll. That smile!

I know what you mean about David's 'faces'and body language DD. He's not in 'acting mode' here and you can see a subtle difference. God he had great legs, they're just perfect. He's very relaxed, natural and genuine here, near the beginning of his fame and not yet scarred, scornful or too alienated by it.

As for Shirley she was (is) a beautiful woman, it's only now looking at her from an adult perspective that you see how young she really was when she filmed the PF. It's hard to believe she could be the mother of Keith and Laurie, (gymslip mum LOL!) yet at the time I believed it, looking at her through the eyes of a child.

Can't say I ever went gaga over his physique. I have a good idea of how he looked in real life and he was way too slight for me to find his body attractive. He's fine boned and practically underweight so he films and photographs very well.

My, I loved his slight physique. I'm afraid his figure was compatible to mine as I was boyishly built and even slighter than David when I was younger. I like his legs because there are no calf muscles sticking out or anything like that. He looks great in shorts and he's not hairy, guess androgenous is right up my alley!

All I can say is... I LOVE THIS !!

Thanks Clodyne ... just makes me lovin' Keith more and more !

Lol...Marja !

British Fan, I love his physique. I could go for a more defined build, like he had at the end of the 80's - that looked fantastic on him too, but I'll take him thin. He's scrumptious either way to me.

He's does look a bit different here DD, you're right. Danny may have had more lines, but it seems like a lot of the effectiveness of David's acting as Keith was in his expressions and his timing. I love watching him.

One thing I've read about children of divorce is that they learn to be great actors as they navigate the perilous territories of their two new home situations. Here's a situation where in a way, what happened to him actually could have helped him with his acting. His resolve also probably helped to give him his strength and resilience to get through the fantastic life he's had.

Shirley is beautiful! Dang, I wish I had her nose! I wouldn't be surprised if David really did at one point have a crush on her. I think that probably happens sometimes, huh? Especially since he really didn't get to know her as a step mom while he was growing up. He didn't spend much time with his father and Shirley did he, until he moved to NY with them?

I meant to also say that yeah, Patrick on David's lap is so adorable. It looks so natural, like something he would do often when around him. He did this in another similar show, didn't he? Wasn't he wearing a tux or suit in that one?

Here is the link to all you need to read - with links in posts to other sites regarding the PF reunion on the Today Show this morning. Danny called into his radio show as he was leaving his hotel to go to NBC and then later 2 times from the greenroom, and that was fun to listen to with the on air stuff.

Got an email from a Just David club member who was there this morning:

Hi Barbara I was there and there was another person to go get there autographs and they signed my three albums and I had my picture taken taken with Danny and Suzanne, and Brian they were very nice about it too. Did not get David though, someone said he had to catch a plane. The crowd was let go at about 8:30 or so and I stuck around for the Partridges. But it was fun seeing them in person.

Just a comment about the This Is Your Life video (which is the real focus of this blog) and I know I risk being like David and repeating and saying the same thing over and over, but........I MISS THAT GUY ON THE LEFT!! WHERE DID THAT DAVID GO?
That's the guy who made me sigh on more than one occasion!

Daydreaming David said...

I know what you mean, Barbara. For all intents and purposes, I missed his whole career and now, re-discovering him and his work, I find that it's not just his looks that have changed. He's a different person. I think the biggest change is his innocent and natural "world at my feet" demeanor has been replaced by cynicism, which I guess is pretty understandable given his life challenges. He's the first to say that you don't come out of that teen idol craze the same person. He was a kid back then and now, he's a man.
