The Donk is Real, People!

Not that we had any doubts. Still, "David" sets the record straight for "Red", a disgruntled audience member who proposed that his unknown illness that concert evening "consisted of having a large head, small penis and being a huge ass". Hilarious post from "David", aka "I Am a Clown", over at the ChicagoReader music blog today at 6:08 PM. Admit it, you've been following the drama too.

Sorry to disappoint, but I won't post a picture here that irrevocably refutes that small appendage claim. You can find your own. And no, there's no need to share it! :)

P.S. I'm torn between labeling this post "wtf?" and "bad press".

Mine too! Back to fun and hilarity!

I must confess to a certain closet addiction to that blog - it's very entertaining. If only 'I am a Clown' WERE David, it would show he has a sense of humour about everything! However, hilarious and entertaining none the less.

Crikey 85 posts on that blog already, and there have been other blogs these past few weeks. Reminds me of an old Oscar Wilde quote 'The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.'Well, it's true in the case of entertainers and celebrities!

I somehow think that this might boost David's concert attendance. PEOPLE might want to know want everyone is talking about.
I don't think that poor woman from Wyoming will ever be the same.

I did find a favorable review on the fan site. It seems like the average concert attedance of David's show are about 500.

Racehorses, what do you mean about that woman from Wyoming never being the same? She was slighted by DC - you don't think she'll get over it and put him out of her mind?

That is a favorable review of the Turning Stone Casino show. Thanks for sharing. However, where do you get that his "average concert attendance" is 500 people? Turning Stone casino holds 500 people. We'd need a tally of all his venues to calculate an average.

Penn's Peak was 500 as well as this one. IT wasn't filled.
This it what it "seems" like since the review I have read in the past have him performing in the smaller casino rooms.
Just my perception.
I also said 'paying' there was a New York Concert that was a free show that had more people.
This doesn't include where there are other acts like Davy Jones.
I guess it depends on where he is performing.

Just reading the Chicago blog, I think WYOMING goes by Soul Girl,
That New York concert was a while back and she still needs to vent about it.
That what I meant by she will never be the same.

Thanks for the Turning Stone link. That was a lovely review by a fairly new fan (in terms of seeing David perform)so I take heart from that. Seems that he peformed well that night and was in good spirits. It was a shame that the women who rushed the stage didn't allow the reviewer's daughter (age 12) to get near David to shake his hand.

My goodness! I haven't read your blog for a while, so I was shocked when I read about David's recent shows. Not that I'm surprised, or yes I am, I couldn't believe that he would continue behaving like this. I had decided not to waste more time on this arrogant guy, but reading your blog and the comments is not a waste of time, it's fun! Everything that makes you laugh is good for you! Keep up the good work!
(Maybe I should say like our dear man: "I love you...no, I mean it, I really love you, you are fantastic, you are so loyal and I am so grateful for your support..."

Nice to hear from you MaeB, I was thinking of you. I still like reading about David and I will always enjoy his music even if he is a bit full of himself and not the nicest, well rounded individual on the planet. Guess with 40 years of women throwing themselves at him, he cant help being the way he is and having skewed ideas about himself.

And you mean that sinceeerely, don't you, MaeB? ;-)
Good to read you again. I was slowing down my blogging but that comment from "David", well, that was snark on a platter for me. Irresistible. Glad this blog makes you smile. If you really want to laugh, check out the article about
Barry Manilow fans
that Barbara-Just David posted in the comments to my previous post.

I confess, guilty of spending WAY too much time checking out the blog on Chicago Reader! Just too funny and also a little weird....Where do these people come from?!

DD, of course I mean it sincerely! I realized it could be misunderstood, since I quoted David's not so sincere words. The reason I felt so fed up was/is that my brother died unexpectedly in January. That makes you put things into perspective. I still love the young David, love to watch pictures and clips of him back then, not to speak about listening to "Dreams are nuthin'...", and I agree totally with what you wrote in your open letter to him. I just don't think he will make use of his talent anymore, HE is fed up, and even his acting talent doesn't help him to hide it. But let's hope, maybe he will surprise us!

My apologies, MaeB, I wasn't clear. I should have put "sinceerely" in quotes because I was quoting David too! LOL! Example here. He often uses the phrase "And I mean that sinceeerely" (stretching out that adverb to give it more power) when talking specifically about his feelings for his fans.
I am so sorry to hear about your brother. My sincere condolences.
