"Winter Wonderland"

The man certainly can do justice to a tux. Too bad he lightened his hair though. He looks striking with dark brown hair; borders on ordinary with lighter hair. Hmm. Could that have been the goal?

Jones and Cassidy sounded different in "The Partridge Family" version, didn't they? I do believe it is Shirley Jones on lead here.

omg. I'm am sitting here agape over this PF version. He sounds incredibly, gobsmackingly sexy! His voice is irresistible, like he's softly brushing my ear with the kiss of his exquisite and sensual voice. It's better than a piece of the silkiest chocolate fudge melting in my mouth. I can barely catch my breath. I wish you all could see my cheeks right now. They are hot and severely flushed listening to this. LOL!!

He sounds especially sexy in duets with women I think. The contrast frames his voice so desirably.

Of course, I love the live version with Shirley. He reminds me of Keith here, all enthusiasm and sweetness. And his harmonizing is so good. He did a great job, as usual.

I'm with you DD, I prefer the darker hair. What is his natural hair color? I know it is darkish, but how dark?

Thanks for another great one DD! I can't tell you how much I appreciated that! This was such a treat after such a long day. ;-)

You could be right DD, David may have been trying to distance himself from his earlier look and he was only a year or so away from his blond highlights. I also prefer David with his darker hair (his early 1990's long dark locks were very flattering to him.

The PF version is OK, not enough David, LOL! I very much prefer his awesome harmonies on the first one to him singing the tune on the PF version. Thanks for posting.

I'm getting very festive now. It's snowing around parts of UK and some of us could be in for a white Christmas, if it reaches down south in Devon. The last time we had a white one my daughter was a toddler in a cute little snowsuit!!

OK, I've listened to the PF version several times now and David is being all sensual on me. His voice is so soothing. I love his pronounciation. He actually sounds the last letter of each word. His diction is great. Some singers mumble and are lazy with their word pronouciation. Absolutely love the way he says chillin'. I want to play the CD but I'm not allowed to have it till Xmas. Hmmmph!!

I hope you do get a white Christmas British Fan!! We haven’t had one in a few years at my mom’s. It would be so nice. I think freshly fallen snow is so peaceful. Everything is so white, untouched, and quiet. Is anyone else expecting snow?

So he's lovin' on you now, eh??? :=) I'd love to play this song for week and not get anything done. You're right though, if there's anything wrong with it, it's not enough David. I wonder how much more of his voice like that I can take at once though.

I was wondering, on a lot of the PF songs and older DC songs, there’s this very deep horn that accents the songs. Does anyone know what instrument it is?

Oh dear!! I keep looking at the lovely way he is standing there with Shirley. Feet apart, leaning backwards, like he's getting ready to limbo dance!!

Have you noticed that he moves the microphone while singing and Shirley doesn't?

I think his hair was naturally light brown, to go by pics of him as a child. I agree with you, British fan, he looked great in the 90s with dark long hair.

No clue about that instrument, Singme.

His voice is so intimate on that PF version, isn't it? Not enough of it, I agree.

I noticed that he does that with the mic too! It seems so gallant of him to so carefully control the volume of his singing so he doesn't drown Shirley out. At least I think that's what he's doing. He does that on the Twelve Days of Christmas too, but not so much on the White Christmas number where he's singing solo. He was not a selfish singer then. He seemed very aware of how his voice mixed in with all the other singing and music going on and knew just how loud or soft to be.

Why does he have to be so damned cute???? He's so sweet too when he gestures to Shirley at the end. He has a lot of respect for her.

I agree with you two - the dark long hair of the early nineties was to die for. I know I've gone completely nuts on your blog about that look, DD.

I've only recently stumbled across this site and have found it to be so refreshing because the majority of comments are honest and heartfelt. I am a longstanding DC fan (since early 1972) but accept that he has flaws etc, and have found it so refreshing that many who post here see that too but love him not too much less.
I have watched these duets on YT several times over and they warm my soul (to steal a DC title) - they show his raw talent David at his best.
