"It's Fun for a Boy and a Girl!"

"...iSlinky Challenge 2.0 version will bring Slinky further into the digital age with all new and exciting Slinky game-based challenges, added interactivity and a sizzling new version of the classic Slinky jingle performed by ‘70's pop icon David Cassidy."

The word "sizzling" has me worried. Is it shorthand for dance/hip-hop? Either way, it will be cool to hear David's version on the tube.

Click here for the press release touting the iSlinky application. Call me a fuddy-duddy but wasn't tactile play Slinky's main appeal? Oh well, I'll leave it to someone else to ponder the ramifications of transforming simple toys for the digital age.

Here's an original commercial for the toy.

We dont have slinky commercials here but that classic one is sweet. That jingle is certainly not familiar in England.

My kids loved slinkys, still have one or two around the place. Yes, I agree, they're meant to be tactile, that's the fun part isn't it?

They'd surely have to give the slinky features/body parts and give it a personality to make interactive games interesting. Can't see a few spiral blobs having much intereactive appeal.

I, too, am trying to figure out what kind of video game you could have for slinky! You set top and bottom on two steps, let go, and hope it goes all the way down. Or set it on an incline. Maybe the challenge is in coming up with a slinky course. Or in experimenting with different sizes of slinkies.

I'm sure they'll come up with Slinkyville which you can build (on the top of a hill of course) and then of course you can pair off Slinkys and produce lot's more slinkies !!

You're all more imaginative than I am with your iSlinky ideas!

BTW, I went to the iTunes app site and could not find iSlinky 1.0. The press release said it was available for $0.99, no? Googled it as well and couldn't find anything different than that press release.
