"White Christmas"

Ok, by now, you've probably figured out that I'll be featuring songs from The Partridge Family's Christmas Card album during December. Did you expect anything else? For shame.

And here's David Cassidy solo in 1982. Doesn't Shirley Jones look proud?

His voice is so strong, so sure---he never misses a note. Thanks for that, DD.

That voice! I haven't heard him sing this before, and I'm thrilled! And Shirley Jones does look authentically proud there in the end. I was not in my best mood this morning, because I was supposed to fly to Sweden yesterday evening, but couldn't get to the airport, because there was a little snow, which caused complete chaos in the traffic. Now I feel happier and I'm going to watch that clip again! Thanks, DD!

I tried to keep to comment only on the singing, but I have to add that ooh, how beautiful he was!

Isn't his smile the most gorgeous? Glad this brightened your morning, MaeB. Have a safe trip.

He sings these songs so beautifully. I really love the live version for the wow oh wow bit after sleigh bells in the snow.

All the Cassidy mannerisms are in full force here, the gorgeous smile, the head thrown back, closed eyes, I have been sneaking a look at this clip every day!!

He's such a remarkable and professional performer. David appears relaxed in this clip without a care in the world, yet I think that 1982 was part of a dark period for him after his first marriage had failed. He is more filled out in the face and body here than at any other time in his life, he looks gorgeous for it though. He may have been drinking and having a fairly unhealthy lifestyle at this time. Well, unhealthy by David's standards anyhow.

Forgot to mention his standing with his legs apart. LOL! Another Cassidy trait. That really does it for me!!!!

British fan, this performance occurring in one of DC's low periods might explain Shirley Jones beaming like a proud mama during his whole performance.

Not only does he sings these songs beautifully, he seems to sing them effortlessly as well.

As for him standing with his legs apart...I won't go there. LOL!

First thing I noticed was the bow at the beginning. Over at the waist, flip the hair on the way up, very Partridge Family!

His singing here is so great. I know I keep saying this but he is so good live.

Legs apart...and I love the way he uses his hands when he sings, the way he leans back, closes his eyes, tilts his head, smiles. He's SO expressive!! That's ONE of the reasons why I love to watch him sing. ;-)

Thanks DD.

There's another one of these vids floating round YT, the one where David sings Winter Wonderland with Shirley. It's amazing. Shirley has quite an operatic voice yet David does the harmonies with her and they sound so beautiful together. He's so amazing, it's unbelievable!

Stay tuned, British fan, stay tuned ;-)

I am indeed staying tuned!! That particular clip leaves me gobsmacked. I don't know if you're familiar with that English expression, it sort of means utterly astounded or struck dumb!!! Literally gob=mouth smacked=struck.

Oh, yes and it's a favorite too. I came across the expression for the first time in a YT comment - someone wrote that David was gobsmackingly beautiful. I instantly understood what it meant. :)

Love learning colorful English expressions like that.

Thanks for the new word BF!!! I've never heard that before. That describes my feeling precisely!!! ;-)

Must I admit that I vied them on YT before?? ;-)

Damn, can´t watch the White Cristmas clip!
I´ve learned it is because
it contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, that´s why some videos are not available in Germany.Maybe in other countrys too?
