Sounds like....?

r-r-r-ip??

Clodyne has uploaded the clip that generated this screen capture. Even though I'm not a fan of David Cassidy's blond period, his charismatic energy and voice here keep me glued to my screen. And yes, I'd feel the same way if his jeans were two sizes bigger. ;-)

Incidentally, this show is one instance where he is simply introduced as David Cassidy, actor and singer, with a plug for his current or upcoming projects. No mention is made of The Partridge Family or his teen idol reign. If I had come across this show back then, almost ten years past my crush on Keith Partridge, I'm not sure I would have recognized him. (Apologies if I'm repeating myself - I may have mentioned this at one point but can't find it in my entries. Might have been in comments.)

I agree, DD. The laugh, voice and sense of humor are all David Cassidy. The clip is very amusing. But, the blond hair makes him look really 'different'. For lack of a better word-dare I say-not as handsome as usual.

There is no mention of PF. That must have been refreshing for him at that time. However, I noticed a common "Keith" gesture. It is at 1:05, when David crossed his arms and waits to get the game title to draw. The arms crossed gesture and facial expression is the same one he is used on PF when "Keith" is about to hear a "Danny" smart alecky remark.

Hey, wasn't the host of this game show on PF too??!! Actually, I think he was played Jody Foster's father in an episode. I'm not mentioning this for trivia's sake. I that is why there wasn't a teen idol or PF introduction. The host and David know each other from PF days. To the host, David is just David: the actor and singer.

Right on all counts, Anonymous. DC is still cute as a blond but nowhere near as striking as he is with dark hair. Honestly, I find him barely recognizable. I noticed the "Keith" gesture too and couldn't help but laugh. His mannerisms are endearing.

The host was Bert Convy who guest starred twice on the PF. DC appeared on this game show for a few episodes (must have guest starred for a week - Win, Lose or Draw was shown every afternoon, IIRC) and never once did Convy or the on-air announcer mention the PF. Yeah, it must have been a refreshing change for him. We can hear some sustained clapping from the audience when DC's called up to play - a contingent of his loyal fans in the audience, no doubt. Perhaps Barbara-Just David was there and will chime in with some good background info? :)

I thought he looked great! The hair is beginning to get darker again (not as blond as it was) and the length and style suit him. What a perfect opportunity to view his glorious rear end! He fills jeans so well. David was short changed in the artist department - his drawings are about as good as mine i.e. useless! Who cares though, I was looking at the pretty buns. (I'd love to leave my hand print there!) Joking aside - it's lovely to see David just being David!

I will not be commenting on the (outstanding/upstanding?) view of David from the front for legal reasons.

LOL! I'd love to plant a lipstick mark on that behind. He does look awesome in those jeans. SCREAMS!!!

Great to see him having fun! I hadn't noticed that mannerism but that is so true!!!!

Oh, in regards to my post of the Screen capture post, I see that she HAS put the clip that shows, um what my friend found new respect for him for. She actually does not like his music and only watched or went to see him with me as a pal.

Blonde hair fan here as you know.
His features were brighter and his face softer with this hair. And he was in personality as subsequence.

LOL to many of us who in the 80's around him, TODAY he is almost unrecognizable to us with dark hair. This David (blonde) is the one I feel more familiar with. His blonde hair was so usual back then. But this was when he had it more light brown blonde and not as blonde as he did in '85.
Bert was a friend of David's for years after the PF and in fact, Bert was doing a big favor for DC by having him on the show. DC wasn't being seen for a while over here, and this got him seen on a TV show. This was when DC was saying he couldn't get a job on TV. Bert came through for him. His lp was a never being seen thing, until 1990. And then he changed his hair back to '70's.
Anthony Newly on here was funny, and DC also was friendly with Morgan Brittany (think he liked how she looked).
And see Married With Children's "Marcie"??
