Keith might just be the cutest Peter Rabbit EVER in that episode (any doubters, please refer to pic in April 6 post) but he's also sexy as all get out in the group's "musical performance". Serious Yowza around the the 0:26 mark and then from 0:38 to 0:44. (And to think girls today squeal over that AutoTuned Bieber baby. For shame.) By the way, who decided to mess with the YouTube format? It looks so wishy-washy now. Gah. Can't stand it.

I no longer feel sorry for him in that bunny suit in this episode. He looks especially happy this play day on the PF with all those girls in bikinis around the pool. LOL! I bet he made the most of it. ;-)
I like this song, but a lot of the PF songs do sound very similar.

OMG! I haven't seen more than a few episodes of PF on YouTube, I haven't bought the dvd:s, don't know why really, but after this I have to order them. How cute can one be?
Agree about the YT format, why mess with it? There have been negative comments IIRC.
So David goes from cute bunny to this, quite a feat! I've never seen this episode so must be an Easter cruise and season 4 judging by the hair and blossoming maturity. David was wise to quit and knew he could no longer play a 'younger' character. He can turn from cute/adorable to sexy/confident/knowing in an instant. It's all in the eyes! David seems to be having fun with the character, playing typical Keith but his eyes are smouldering/knowing, almost like he is trying to get away with making fun of 'Keith' but at the same time giving a devastating performance! Just look at the way his hair blows in the wind - dangerous stuff. I love the outdoor shots, there weren't many of them and David looks his best out in the daylight!
Any red-blooded ladies present during filming would surely have had to quell an urge to rush at David and hurl their arms at him and grab a kiss. No one should be allowed to look that good!
If he looked this handsome on film goodness knows how he must have looked in real life. Stop you in your tracks and missed heart beats, no doubt. In my experience, celebs look even more attractive in real life than they do on film.
Glad that little Ricky is nowhere to be seen. Hopefully someone threw him overboard. (Just kidding). He was the Scrappy Doo of the PF.
Joking aside, TV/film/theatre execs missed a golden opportunity with David. How any of them could look at DC and only see 'teen idol fodder' beggars belief. The sex appeal oozing from this man was incredible and the wickedness/playfulness in his eyes just in this clip, should have gotten someone's interest. The guy could act with his eyes, there must have been many vehicles available for him and he could have taken any hairstyle/cut required. Were they blind to his earlier work? Sheer, bl**dy waste. Pigeon-holing/typecasting is such a crime.
In my epic post I haven't explained my point. David Cassidy sex-god (singer and actor) was bursting forth from Keith Partridge and there was no way he could have carried on playing that character.
What I have never understood, and I lived through this period and the adulation, is why David assumed everyone thought he was KP, why fans thought he was KP and why producers thought he was KP when he most evidently was NOT.
As a child I never realised 'Keith' was supposed to be a goody-two-shoes, I looked at David Cassidy playing that character and assumed he was 'enjoying himself' with all those girlfriends he had, we just didn't see it. I was very innocent myself I must add! I was a very late starter, no boyfriends till 15/16 but I 'knew' everything, and my 12/13 year old self thought Keith was 'naughty' behind the cameras. LOL! Must have been something oozing from DC I picked up on.
The mags may have portrayed an image but DC himself clearly was not that image. We knew little of his private life (until later) but the body language, demeanour, way he spoke, eyes especially, scant interviews showed him to be someone else. Pfft!! If I saw that at age 12/13 was the rest of the world blind?!! I even read the teen mags with a touch of scepticism, I never believed half the rubbish there either, only bought them for the posters.

LOL!!! I enjoyed your rant this morning, British Fan!! I want to hurl MYSELF at him. Ah!!! He looks so huggable here, among other things. Of course, I'd knock him down at this point. LOL!
Anyway, I agree with you, the little I saw of David back in the early 70s left me feeling like he was far from an innocent for some reason. That was part of the appeal for me. He exuded sex. He does look like he's playing with Keith here. LOL!
I know what you mean about the content in those teen magazines. The first one I bought was my last. In that issue, I thought his pictures looked unnaturally touched up, and the article seemed completely fabricated.
I've always thought David's acting on the PF was more about what he didn't say. He's great with his eyes, expressions, and mannerisms. And of course he is so much fun to watch when he's "performing" the songs. I always love to see him groovin' to the music while he's singing/lip synching!
It really is a SHAME that no one plucked him for other roles. Could part of it have been jealousy? Perhaps he had so much sex appeal people had trouble seeing past that? I do feel for him being so objectified. That had to get really frustrating.
I like him in the flared pants of the 70s! He looks so good in those. He looks much better in those than those extremely fitted pants/leggings he often wore in the eighties. His legs do look like twigs in those. He looks really great in the pants he was wearing a few years ago. They look like they were a tailored fit. Those really accentuated his gorgeous butt and uh, other assets. Dang, I just said it was a crime he was so objectified and there I go. But I appreciate many other things about him too. ;-)

This clip is from episode 7 of the fourth season and I think he had decided at that point that it would be his final season. This is his least "Keith" musical performance and his sexiest, by far.
Singme, do you recall which teen magazine you had bought back then? Sixteen magazine apparently didn't retouch their pics and he was in their pages in all his pimply glory.

And MaeB, I doubt you'll regret getting the DVDs. The series holds up. It's my surefire pick-me up.
I recall seeing David have a few pimples on some pics I had but never taking much notice of them. I always liked the more natural pics the best, some of them looked 'coloured and unreal' to me. I had so many pics his hair was alarmingly different in colour at times, going from what looked like dark brown to almost light reddish. Did he colour his hair or was it just lighting and location that made it so?
My favourite pictures of David were when his hair looked darker.
DD, I think it was a Tiger Beat. The pictures looked like they touched up more than pimples, like they played with his eyes and mouth too. It looked fake. I just remember being disappointed with the quality and then the story was just rubbish. I recall it was "David wants to date you" or something completely unrealistic like that. I will even say that that issue turned me off a bit to follow his career. Had it been better quality I'm sure I would have bought more issues. It never even occurred to me that there might be better pictures and articles about him out there. Sorry, I should have been more careful as I hope I did not offend anyone. I was venting with my original disappointment.
I did get totally into the Monkees craze for about a year when I was a few years younger. That was fun.
I remember reading a story written by a girl who's family was a a vacation cruise and when they boarded they found out that the PF were going to be filming on board. And they got to watch the filming and got to meet David and others in the cast. She had photos with her report. I can't recall if it was on the internet or not, though.
After the PF, David went into recording full time and then did the European tours (UK, Germany, Holland, France, etc.) and then he quit after Bernadette died and had sort of a breakdown. Then he got Police Story which he got the Emmy nomination for. That was when people saw what he could do acting wise and he put the music/recording on hold and went more into acting on TV and the Stage.
Thanks for the cruise info Barbara. Those on holiday must have hit the jackpot. I would have assumed they'd used the ship while it was not in service, paid a fee and filled it with professional extras or volunteers. (Doubt they'd have trouble finding volunteers!)
I was thinking of his look at 0:38 last night (it is seared into my brain) and I just wanted to SCREAM!!!! LOL! Sorry, I just had to SCREAM it somewhere. I should create a new persona called screamingdavid for these special moments. ;-)
