Since learning of this song's existence, I've been dying to hear it. "Frozen Noses?" What kind of song could that be? Thanks to CherishDavid for sharing it and creating the perfect video to accompany David's composition. It was the B-side to the 1974 UK-only single "If I Didn't Care". What was wrong with North America that we couldn't appreciate his stuff back then?
I'll admit that at first listen, I thought the lyrics were hokey. The more I listen to the song though, the more I like it. His voice is sexy and the imagery is as sweet and innocent as the melody.

Is there a country flavor to this song? Could it be revived today?

Recently I got to discover another great song sang by David.A totally new version of the Partridge Family "Love is all that I ever needed".I never knew that David had his own version of that song...so it makes me wonder how many other gems like these we have never heard before? David's version his totally awsome! I love that song so much! ;-)
I suspect that there are many other gems from David left to be discovered. He might not have thought them up to standards back then, but now, honestly, we'll take 'em ;-)
I embedded the video to his version of "Love is all that I ever Needed" in my previous post, Live Wishlist. I agree that it's fabulous. Totally different lyrics but his voice without all the distracting PF background vocals? Sublime.
I had to listen to this two or three times, then decided I like it. Like you've mentioned before, his music is timeless and this one would not look out of place today. I think the lyrics are quite sweet and romantic. It's the way he sells it though, that soothing, hypnotic voice. I wish these B sides made it onto the early albums. The B side of Cherish 'All I wanna do' is really catchy, kind of 60's feel. It's very exciting to hear new stuff (well old new stuff) from David.
I purchased this single here in NYC when it came out. It was a picture sleeve on the Curb Music label (Mike Curb's label). Other US fans bought it then also. Maybe it wasn't found in all US cities, but a lot of fans seemed to find it back then.
Another REALLY great song that is not on an lp is the B-side to Lying To Myself cassette single, a song called "I'll Believe You Again." It is so so good and never released on the LP or CD single. It's only on the Cassette single. Here is the link to listen to it:

This is David as I love him the most, his voice intimate, warm, sexy and in focus. Thanks, both CherishDavid and Daydreaming! Will listen to it again and again and again...
Gotta be honest, I'm not crazy about the song, although I love the way he sings it. It's not an easy song to sing to begin with---full of octave jumps---and his voice is all over it.
I'll believe you again is a nice song, but I never did like that kind of power-guitar rock that was so popular in the 80's. Boy, am I picky! Sorry about that, I can't help it.

I loved this song from the first time I listened to it. I think it's just beautiful and he sings it so soothingly. To me when I first heard it without really listening to all the words it seemed like a lullaby. But then I realized it is a love song. What imagery!! Still, I think it could be sung/played as a lullaby. cherishdavid created such a pictureesque video to this song.
Barbara, if you have a minute, you would share that info about Curb releasing "If I didn't care/Frozen Noses" to Jane at the Downunder fan site? To date, I have not found a more complete discography on David than on her site and I've been under the impression that "If I didn't care..." was not released in the States.
And thank you very much for sharing "I'll believe you again" - I prefer it to "Lyin' to Myself" but I must admit that like SLK, I've never been a huge fan of this style of music.

This song is really getting under my skin. Must be the way he sings it. You almost take David for granted because his voice is so easy to listen to. I love all David's slow ballads. I don't generally listen to slow stuff by other artists. The closest I get to a ballad would be November Rain by Guns N Roses or some Bon Jovi number. I've always preferred uptempo stuff, although I like musical theatre, even past artists like Doris Day! Anyhow, with David/Partridge Family I seem to fall for the slower stuff. I could listen to David sing anything if I'm honest. At the moment I really love the Crossword Puzzle songs, don't think any of them were singles but the more you listen to them the more beautiful they become. It's because of David's voice, pure and simple.
To British Fan: Yes,the Crossword Puzzle album is one of my favorite too. ;-) I really love David's voice on it especially with these 2 songs:"It's sounds like you're saying hello" & "It's you".I could listen to these 2 non-stop.They are simply wonderful! :-)
British fan, we are on the same wavelength when it comes to ballads. I too am not normally taken by them. But David's slower tracks are among his bests.
I love Doris Day. Her version of "Fly Me to the Moon" blows Sinatra's out of the water.
I guess David was right when he said that his fans would never let him sing the real rocking songs that he actually wanted to. They kept him stuck singing the 'safe' pop sounding songs. He sounded so good when he rocked on that Enigma lp and he could've had a new similar career to Springsteen. That's a shame. NOw he only gets to do a bit of Foxy Lady and does Crossroads in his shows but then has to quickly go back to the pop.
Amer. Fan, please don't base your claim that David was right in believing his fans don't want to hear him rock on a handful of commentators here. "Lyin' to Myself" was a top 40 hit - very well received. Why didn't he follow up with something just as rocking?
I think that that type of rock doesn't showcase his voice as much as something with a sparer arrangement but that's my opinion. He's got one of the most expressive and versatile voices I've ever had the pleasure of hearing and honestly, if he came out with a "David Cassidy reads the Manhattan phone book" album, I'd buy that too.
I'm not so sure he "has to" sing all those PF songs. It seems more like he's convinced himself that's what he has to do. Maybe from his perspective, with all those middle-aged women throwing their lingerie at him and holding up Keith pictures at all his concerts, it seems to him that that's all the fans want. If so, that's a shame, and he's mistaken.
Maybe we could send him a petition/letter asking him for new stuff. Think it would work?
