Here's a treat for you all. Clodyne, yet another eagle-eyed reader, shared this recently uploaded YT clip with me. Paying it forward, as a good fan should.
Is it me or is his disdain for the the song showing here? Brace yourself, for all is forgiven with that killer dimpled smile at 1:00. Yes, the show mucked up the title of the song as "Daydreaming" instead of "Daydreamer" and no, I have no flipping clue where this was filmed. On a ship at night? In a truck yard? As for that white suit, this clip is from 1974, so it is possible that this is the same suit he wore in that Partridge Family/My Three Sons Thanksgiving Special. And from the oohs and aahs at the end, I wouldn't be surprised if he were singing this live.

Thanks for sharing DD!!! This is heavenly!! ;-))))) Did he say he didn't like this song? I didn't pick that up at all in this video. To me, it just seems like he's at his most enchanting here, crooning away, charming every unsuspecting soul watching and listening.
I don't know if he ever disliked this song - it's a great song, I'm sure he genuinely appreciates it now - I just know that by 1974, he had made it clear that he was fed up with singing this easy-listening pop.
Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I see some "can you believe this shit I'm crooning?" eye rolling around 1:05 to 1:18.
He does seem kind of bored with this song, now that you mention it.
Maybe, DD. He almost looks like he's ready to fall over from exhaustion in certain parts. Or maybe he IS so sick of it and bored, and isn’t really even conscious of what he’s doing he’s done it so many times. I do love it when he looks directly at the camera though. Yum.
Well I had no sound on my computer today so I had to wait till now to listen. Poor film quality aside my tongue is hanging out and I'm drooling all over my keyboard. Sometimes I wonder why I spend so much time on Mr Cassidy, watching that clip explains it all perfectly!!
From the background sound I think he must be at an airport.
Can't tell if he's playing it straight here or not as you suggest DD. He did tend to do those cheesy deliveries back then. No doubt you've seen the How Can I Be Sure Top Pops video (where he wears the pink suit!). Much the same style, delivery and mannnerisms in that one too. To be honest I just LOVE it. Only beautiful David could get away with it. Thanks for linking. I'm a happy girl today.
Don't get me wrong, people: I love this too! Clips of David circa early 70s are too rare and he was too beautiful a specimen for me not to appreciate anything of that era, cheesy delivery and all.
Is anyone else having trouble tearing themselves away from this clip? I think I'm addicted to it. The close-ups are divine. His eye-lids are heavy, makes him even more irresistible. He's either tired or stoned, sigh .....

The video "I am a clown" is from an interview I sent to Catgil2 a while back.I was very happy to see it online this morning. ;-)
Oh boy, he's absolutely beautiful in this clip despite looking exhausted. Guess this was filmed around the time of his 'final' tour in '74, when he was running out of steam. However, he still manages to radiate masses of sex appeal, sweetness, charm etc etc ...
